Our Story: The Vision of “Teacher Modern”
Mrs. Elizabeth Mavis Anna Afia Ayiwa Danquah Adomako
1940–2020
Known affectionately as “Teacher Modern,” Mrs. Elizabeth Mavis Anna Afia Ayiwa Danquah Adomako was the visionary founder of Modern International School, Kumasi (MISKL), established in September 1966.
Through her dedication to education, she created more than a school. She built a community grounded in opportunity, character, compassion, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
Today, MISKL continues to serve the Buokrom and Asokwa communities, while the Ayiwa Danquah Memorial Foundation carries her vision forward by supporting the next generation. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the opportunities she helped create. Read her story.

We work to combat child labor and help prevent school dropouts by supporting tuition and educational expenses for impoverished and underprivileged children.
Through our work with Modern International School, Kumasi Ltd. (MISKL), we promote holistic education and help create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Our Core Pillars

Our targeted initiatives focus on three critical areas:
Education Equity
We are deeply passionate about preventing school dropouts. We fund tuition fees, learning supplies, and educational costs for impoverished and underprivileged children at risk of leaving school.
Anti-Child Labor Advocacy
We actively champion child welfare initiatives to protect children from exploitation and combat child labor, ensuring they stay in the classroom where they belong.
Holistic 21st-Century Growth
Grounded in the core values our founder championed, we fund facility upgrades (including libraries, computer labs, and science labs) and extracurricular programs. We believe that empathy, critical thinking, health and wellness, and respect for the environment are essential for nurturing well-rounded global citizens.

We believe that trust is built through absolute transparency. ADMF is a fully legitimate, duly registered non-profit entity operating in complete alignment with national developmental goals.
- Incorporation: Registered as a non-profit organization Limited By Guarantee (LBG) under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).
- Licensing: Licensed by the Non-Profit Organisation Secretariat in accordance with the Directives of the Management of NPOs Operations in Ghana (2020) and the National NPOs Policy (2020).
